Lemongrass

Lemongrass essential oil is also great for soothing sore and painful muscles and can be added to an aromatic bath for intensive healing benefits.

Simply add 10-20 drops of lemongrass essential oil to a hot bath and soak for at least 20 minutes. The scent is invigorating and refreshing as well as calming to the nervous system.

Safety Precautions and Lemongrass Essential Oil

People with glaucoma, and children should avoid using lemongrass essential oil. If your skin is severely damaged or extremely sensitive, lemongrass oil may be too irritating to your skin as well.

If you are going to use lemongrass, you should test it first for sensitivities or irritation. Add a drop to the nape of your neck, by the hairline, and check within 14 hours for any skin reactions. If there is no reaction, you may assume it is safe for your skin.

Always read and follow the safety precautions on the bottle as well, this is true for Lemongrass and any other essential oil that you may use.

Lemongrass Essential Oil Air Freshener

Lemongrass essential oil can make a wonderful air freshener. It purifies and cleans the air and also is a natural insect repellent.

You can create your own air freshener by combining 1 ½ ounces of Vodka with 1 ½ ounces of distilled water in a 4 ounce spray bottle. Next add 20-40 drops of Lemongrass essential oil. Shake the contents together. You may let the bottle set for 24 hours; the air freshener will strengthen as it ages.
